Weng Lee Restaurant (or Restoran Weng Lee) in Bukit Jambul is an excellent place to enjoy a bowl of pan mee. Located at Bayan Point (Address: 17-G-1, Bayan Point, Medan Kampung Relau, Kampung Seberang Paya, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang. Tel: 04-6452292), roughly behind Hong Leong Bank (Bayan Point branch), the restaurant is sort of a hidden gem.
My personal favourite at Weng Lee Restaurant is the dry pan mee. The noodles are smooth and silky, and it goes very well with the special sambal (which is pretty spicy, but tastes excellent). Sui kow (dumplings) is also available here, for RM 1.20/piece at the time of writing.
The dining area of the restaurant is very comfortable, but there are not many tables available. Its location at the corner lot ensures that the place is airy. Weng Lee Restaurant is open Mondays to Saturdays (8AM-2PM), and closes on Sundays. It is a wonderful place for pan mee.
