The Bread History Bakery at Asas Centre is one of my favourite places to buy buns, bread and cakes (Address: Asas Centre, 7F, Ground Floor, Jalan Gottlieb, 10350 Penang. Tel: 017-3380070). I travel through Jalan Gottlieb regularly, so the location is very convenient. The selections available at this Bread History branch is also pretty good.
Recently, I found that the Bread History Bakery (Asas Centre, Jalan Gottlieb branch) has started offering Baby Full Moon Gift Sets. There are traditional full moon gift sets with turmeric rice (nasi kunyit), curry chicken and fried glutinous rice, as well as more modern full moon gift sets with items like butter cake, tarts, cream puffs, Kobe cake, pandan layer cake, chocolate cake, cupcakes, and Swiss roles. The baby full moon gift sets also come with eggs, ang koo, and ang yee – giving them a traditional feel.
With bakeries like Bread History also offering baby full moon gift sets, it is very convenient for families with new 1-month old babies. Other popular shops in Penang selling baby full moon gift sets include Eaton Kuih Centre and Justart.
