United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is a bank headquartered in Singapore. The bank was founded in 1935 by Sarawakian businessman Wee Kheng Chiang, catering mainly to the Fujian community during its early years. Over the decades, UOB has grown into a major bank in South East Asia. United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (or UOB Malaysia) was incorporated in 1993, although UOB already has a presence in Malaysia since 1951. It now has a significant presence in Malaysia, with 45 branches across the country, the largest branch network of any foreign bank in Malaysia.
