If you are in Straits Quay (Tanjung Tokong, Penang), TAIBA Shawerma is a good choice for Middle Eastern food. The branch at Straits Quay is located within Sam’s Groceria.
It is a relatively small stall, but it is packed with good food. There are a variety of shawerma dishes, including shawerma rice, shawerma wrap, hummus shawerma and plain chicken shawerma. There are also salad dishes (chicken salad with cheese, fattoush salad and Greek salad), falafel dishes, lamb pita and many others.
The dining area is right outside Sam’s Groceria, with a good view of Straits Court. It is very comfortable eating here, especially in the evening when the lights are switched on. Note that the tables and chairs are shared with other stalls, food court-style.
