I bought a lockset for my house’s grill door at Mega Locksmith recently, and had a mixed experience with the owner of the shop. On the first visit to the shop (on 8 December 2017), the owner of Mega Locksmith is kind enough to educate me on how to disassemble and assemble the lockset for my grill door. Based on his recommendation, I bought a Varro brand lockset for my grill door (RM85).
Unfortunately, the lockset does not fit my grill door. My grill door is designed such that it needs a lockset that is longer. I went back to Mega Locksmith to exchange to a more suitable lockset. This time, the owner of the shop wasn’t so friendly, knowing that I was there to exchange things. I ended up exchanging the lockset for just the key-lock part, and got a refund of RM20 (as it was slightly cheaper). I got what I wanted, but the owner’s attitude during my second trip makes it a somewhat unpleasant experience.
Overall, I think Mega Locksmith is a decent shop. But, the attitude of the owner certainly has room for improvement.
